James R. Young - Farmer
Jim owns and operates a small grains and cattle farm in South Central Manitoba with 1000 cultivated acres which includes hay land for cattle. The remaining acres are for pasture for the cattle and land that is unsuitable for agriculture. The crops grown are wheat, oats, rye, sometimes barley, canola, flax and soybeans. Other crops such as corn and sunflowers are difficult to grow due to the short growing season.
Jim’s other pastimes include flying with his own PA22 Tri-Pacer and motorcycling with his current Suzuki a V-/strom.
He also likes boating in the summer with his MacGreagor 26X Sailboat and fishing from the sailboat or his other small aluminum motorboat. In the fall he enjoys hunting, shooting practice and snowmobiling in the winter months.
